How to get rid of acne

A few years ago, I had the worst experience with acne. At first I developed whiteheads with closed plugged pores on the face. I assumed they would clear but after a few days the pores started opening up producing a brown oily material especially on the sunny days. Later I got papules which were small red and tender. They were painful whenever I touched them. After two days they had grown bigger and I decided to get rid of them by squeezing them with my hands. When I tried to remove the pimples they were producing pus at the tips.
This is when I realized something was wrong and started looking for a dermatologist. I called and booked an appointment the following week with the dermatologist. The pimples grew into big and bumpy beneath the skin. By the time I went to see the dermatologist the lumps had grown big and were filled with pus under the skin. I did not believe that my smooth beautiful face was gone. The dermatologist said I was suffering from acne vulgaris in which there is blockage and inflammation of hair follicles and their accompanying sebaceous glands. I received treatment and got my glowing, healthy and pimple free face back.
